weekly Michael23's 2012 52 COMPLETED! WooHoo! Slide show added

aw fluffy is cute! I do like this better for symmetry

Hi Summer, pleased you like it, Fluffy likes his adventures!
Hi Peter, thanks for popping by, in number 4 it is clouds that you can see, the noise showed up in pp as it was over exposed, but as you say, the it adds something to the pic. Still not sure which to post in the flickr group!

Hi Michael

Symmetry - Blimey you have a lot to choose from :D

I really like no:1 with the crisp lines and would of picked that 'if' you had jumped on the track and shot it face on - So I am going for no:3 too, Even the bolts/screws are missing in the same places, loads of textures and nicely lit !!!

I Bet fluffy really wanted a go in the drivers seat !!!!

I was so tempted to jump on the track, but didn't want to get told off  Although it would have been so much better. Fluffy did indeed want to jump in, but didn't get the chance to ask. Number 3 I do like too. Going to go with number 3 for the flickr group before I change my mind!

3 or 4 for me, until I saw 3 cropped! I'm such a sucker for yellow that that one has to be my choice! They're all great though :)

hi michael, interesting take on Symmetry, i think i would go with the crop

Hi Michael

ooooh , so many to chose from & all good shots

I'm plumping for #2 -both versions...like the strong color & both right for the theme

Thanks very much Lynne, was a very enjoyable theme that, I plumped for number 3 in the end for the flickr group, even though I like them all and couldn't decide!

As for a re-shoot this week, I am not sure which one to do, maybe I will re do sweet, but will have to see if I change my mind

Comment catch up time Michael.
You've certainly gave us some choice but I will go straight in and say #3 gets my vote. I like the colour tones and detail in the paint work.

Your image with the cuddly toy (which in itself shows symmetry) in has some great leading lines, the bold vibrant colours are a winner for me too.

Good work. Iain

I like it Michael, and I can see what you were aiming for.. but I think that perhaps the cottage is a little too obscured by the vegetation for it to really have a moody feel to it... Certainly made me take a good long look at it though

I like it but I wonder if cropping out the bright flowers at the bottom would give it a more moody look?

now that really does look moody lol

:D... much more moody Michael...

?....seeing the other shots on fluffy's thread a 'trampy' looking model would be great to shoot in there

I'm guessing you don't mean a tramp, or even a trampy male model? ;)

Michael, I agree re the moodiness of your original, but like it anyway. I do think the window does the trick :)

The only issue I see with your cloning is the repeated nails in the winddow frame. If you could load those I dont think it would be noticeable.

Thanks dean and Mark, I hadn't noticed the repeated nails somehow, if I get a chance I might give it another go. At the moment I am still very much preferring the first image I put up. Wish I had more time when I was getting these pictures.

I'm not as keen with #1 but like the window shot. I can't decide whether it is better with Fluffy. I usually don't like selective colouring but this one works a treat. Not sure why though.

Hi Michael, I love the window shot (sans Fluffy I'm afraid). Excellent cloning skills, wish I had those! I'm not sure that I'm getting moody from the pics though - the outside is looking too lovely. I do agree with DK about getting a model in there though, that would be fab.

Hi Michael

Trying to catch up but i seem to have overlooked your thread for some time. Apologies.

Temperature - pleasing photo, sharp, colourful and on theme. I always like to see well take shots of people because i find it so hard to capture.

Abstract - you say that you are pleased with this group of shots and no wonder. This theme seems to have really inspired you. The explanations are useful - if a bit beyond my abilities - and #3 and #4 are excellent - but #3 is my fave.

Symmetry- Another good set. The yellow diesel is very well produced and so is the metal square thingy. Different approaches with different PP I assume.

Moody - I don't get moody sorry to say. A little indistinct for me.

Hi Peter, thanks for popping by. I like the window shot too, I think it works both with or without Fluffy. The selective colour really worked a treat with this set, the contrast between the green of fluffy and the b+w tones I think is great.

Oooo interesting location.

#2 for moody. Agree with the comments. Though I do like fluffy :D

Thanks Alex

Hiya Vicky, thanks very much for popping by
The cloning was thanks to the healing brush in elements 10, it was tedious and I wasn't quite shore if I had done a good enough job, but it seems to be ok. It certainly is an interesting place, has an eerie feel to it when you walk in, a model would indeed be a very good idea.

Hi Alan, no worries, you have found me again! Thanks for the comments, much appreciated as always. I have to say that the abstract week is one of the best out of the last 77 weeks of themes I have done and really pleased with myself. Moody has proved a little odd, I think this will be revisited at some point, has been a mega long week. Hoping for a great theme tomorrow!

Hi Michael, it looks an interesting place to visit and photograph!!
The window shot is great, I like that fluffy went with you but prefer the shot without him (sorry fluffy). You did well with the pp and I love the detail in the peeling paint!:)

Thanks Sarah, I am still undecided on which is my main pic and going to go in the flickr group, each time I look through I keep going back to number 1.

On to Week 26 and Joy! It's scary that we are half way through the year already!

As we have a baby due on (or around ) 16th December, I knew straight away what I was going to do.

Firstly I will post this one, with babies first blanket and teddy elephant! The scan photo was done at 12 weeks. Nifty fifty at f2, late evening light through bedroom window then pp'd a little.

And a moment I managed to get, Caitlin made the pose with no camera ready and I thought that was it, but she posed again, just once for a spur of the moment picture with baby bump! Nifty fifty wide open and late evening light through patio door.

I like the bump one.

I suppose 'Joy' will mostly be 'happy people' shots. Maybe there'll be some cars, houses etc as in Pride and Joy I'm gonna wait a couple of days I think ... see what others come up with :suspect:

Hi Michael, sorry I'm a few weeks behind!

Symmetry, I like the two train shots, I guess it's always difficult getting a shot straight on unless you're allowed to stand on a ladder on the tracks:bonk:

I like the detail in three but four wins it for being perfectly symmetrical, I like the moody grainy feel to it.

Moody, I see what you were getting at in number one. I agree that a crop off the bottom would bring the cottage out and add to the mood.

Obviously I'm a Fluffy fan so like the window with him in it, but without is just as good. As for pp you can see quite a large area repeated but the nails do highlight it! I always use the clone stamp tool but make sure I take a new sample each time when I'm cloning along straight edges.

Joy, I think I'd like to see number one in colour, cute baby toys lose something in B&W! Baby Gap eh?

Love number two, your daughter is very photogenic, I remember her in your magical shot. That's some bump already, you sure there's only one in there ;)
It looks like there's part of a zip just above her left eye that draws my attention.
