mich66 - my 365!

monkeys are great, lighting, dof and focus. nicely processed...

might just be me, but think the 3 wise monkeys need straightening a tad. Love the photo though, composition, lighting and DOF is brilliant :)

lovely colours and dof on the straws really punchy and the splash is really good well caught as well

think its the line of grain in the wood at the front making it look a bit off? should have moved them... then again, I always take wonky photos :)

thanks all..

brilliant! love the colours and lighting...

Great photos, my favourites are the guitar, pear and straws. I also have a PG Tips monkey, I suspect he may feature in one of my 365 photos shortly :D

If you haven't considered already, I'd suggest picking up some extension tubes if you want to experiment more with macro. They fit between the lens and the mount to decrease minimum focus distance (all settings and focus is manual, and you will need additional lighting) but you can get some really great photos for £7! It can be a bit hit and miss at times, but I've got some really amazing photos (as I'm sure you've seen from some of my 365 photos, or see my flickr for more.)

Hi Mich, just caught up...sorry don't know how I missed your great shots! Happy belated birthday as well....Love you shots for March! Great Pear, love the seeds and a nice paw....tried that myself last night.....not sure it worked! But yours is great!

Your collection of March looks great and a great start to April!

I got a reversing ring off ebay but cant get it to work.. used my 35mm lens set on manual and the camera set to manual but all I get is a black image.. ho hum!.. £6.99 wasted, was dithering over that or the tubes should have gone for them!

Michelle I have to say I've just sat and looked through your whole 365 so far and you have some fantastic shots in here. Am going to have to spend some time on Flickr commenting on some of these tonight!

This has made me want to start a 365 now!

thanks sharon, that was a trial for you, some aren't the best.. am getting a bit jaded these last week or so, thats the trouble of these projects I suppose.. taking a photo is becoming a trial and not a pleasure.. dont want to give up but am feeling blah!!.. guess we all hit that wall at some stage and I do apologise for lack of comments lately.. will give myself a hearty kick up the backside!!

anyway.. next two

I tried some reverse lens macro photography ages ago (back when I got my Sony A200) although I didn't have a reversing ring, I just held the lens to the mount!

Does the lens you tried have a manual aperture ring? Make sure it is set wide open, or if not make sure the little aperture tab is wedged open somehow. You also need a lot of light for macro so fire a flash or make sure the subject is very well lit.

Ah yes I had a similar shot a while back:

But no worries, the whole idea of the 365's is to get inspiration from others and try different interpretations. I think your version works well, did you add the flare in PP?
