Micansu Flash heads

It depends on what you want to do. Are we looking at the 180w heads? They will be ok for small low time shoots but will become more and more limited the bigger your dreams get :)

I have used these sort of heads in the past and once pushed, they melt, blow up or just dont do the job.

Given the choice, I would look for used branded kit, at least you can get them fixed/parts if they blow.

In this case, you do get what you pay for ...... unless you use them low time.

My first proper studio light was a Micansu bought second hand from ebay. I believe it's a 350w model, I still have it, and it works very well.

The only downside I can think of is that it doesn't have a common fit for modifiers, so my Bowens stuff can't be used on it.
