There are plenty but you fail to say what your interests are.

The three Sigma 2.8 lenses are superb value and great optics, the 19, 30 & 60 can be had for £125 each on eBay brand new. The Olympus 45 f1.8 is a cracker too and can be had for £220ish new or about £160-180 second hand.

Other fantastic lenses are the Olympus 12mm f2 and the 17mm f1.8.

There are a plethora of lenses but depends what you want.

Here in lies the problem , like to do everything ?!?
I suppose the photography I'm drawn to most would be landscape/portraight , and I really like shallow dof

The Olympus 9-18 is a nice lens also and goes for £250-300 if you're luckt. One sold here recently for under £300 I think.

The best portraiture lens would be the 45 1.8 or the uber nice 75 1.8.

The Siggy's are fab though, the price is pretty unbelieveable, the 60 would be the one to go for for portraiture. Dave @strumstrum posted an example with his and it was really really sharp at 100% crop.

The shallow DOF would point me to the Panasonic 25mm f1.4 and if you wanted a medium telephoto then the Oly 40-150 (80-300) is a bit of a bargain at £100-120 brand new. And the thought of having a mahoosive 600mm reach would lead me to the Olympus 75-300 II which is about £300-350? I think.

Such a great system and one that keeps drawing me in further and further and think all my Nikon gear is going to have to make way for me to have an OM-D (5 or 10, that is the question!!!) in my life.

You really haven't helped...

Sorry David :( Gear is a nitemare for me I'm afraid as I want it all .
I came away from my cannon 40d due to never wanting to carry it about , but miss it in some ways I suppose ,

Just so you know the lenses I have are oly 12-50 kit and Panasonic 45-200
I like them
I want more toys
I'm a bad man

Desperate for a battery grip
When can I access the classifieds ?

Haha, two peas in a pod then by the sounds of it. :D

I want everything yesterday with the money for a quarter of it.

With the lenses you have I would go for the 45mm f1.8 or maybe the 25mm f1.8 if that's a better focal length for you? Or maybe the 75... or maybe the 12... :D

I'm seriously looking at the 12 I like wide
I need the 9-18 like a fire inside me and im romantically involved with the idea of vintage metal manual / voitlander build quality .

Where's that lottery ticket or can I sell a kidney ?

Good to hear from you David I know your pain :D

Obviously you can use any number of old manual lenses with the appropriate adapter which opens up a massive new pit... :nailbiting:

And what ever you do... DON'T look at the owners thread on the mu43 forums... :sneaky:

Now now minnnt your not trying to lead me to bankruptcy are you for your own personal reasons ?

What have you done ...............

...you don't have to spend a lot of money. Get yourself a few manual primes and a cheap adapter.

For example...
Zuiko, Rokkor or Canon FD...
28mm f2.8... You may get one for under £30.
50mm f1.7 or f1.8... You may get one for under £20.
Adapter off ebay... £10.

Manual focus is easy with these cameras and manual lenses can be cheap and very fun.

I've currently got the Panny 12-35, 45-175 and Oly 45mm, which I find is a nice combination. Next on the list is the Oly 60mm Macro, and when I win the lottery a Panny 35-100mm;)
I had a 9-18mm briefly, but returned it to Amazon - I decided the money would be better spent on the 12-35, which is on the camera 90% of the time.

My 35-100 is one of my most used lenses, just ahead of the 17mm f1.8 and 75-300. 45mm f1.8 oly is catching up quick.

It all depends what you want, what your style is etc.

Hhhmmm Iv spent some time looking into my options and it appears I have to sell my dslr kit to make the most of this system , now opinion on mft vs the Fuji x system vs Sony A

I am in a similar position, thinking about ether omd or Fuji x. Both are capable of great photos its more down to personal preference really, if you read up on some sites the Fuji cant focus and on others the ond is poor picture quality! but in reality its just nit picking between the two.
omd has more and smaller lenses, this only matter if your buying and carrying more. Fuji has I would say less poor lenses but also less chose. do you prefer electronic controls or more dial based? is size and weight the primary or a secondary concern?
its a mine field!

Fuji can focus, and can focus very well....it just takes its time doing it....I found that frustratingly so...

ive got the x-100 and find it is fine with focusing and focus speed, Its horses for courses. but on some reviews you read you would think its faulty almost. its a system that's works well within in its limitations, I guess the fact that I still like older manual focus cameras means out and out auto focus speed is less of a priority for me

Hmmm I own the omd em5 and I think I need to spend some time customising the controls cause it seems to have enough dials/ buttons to be manual enough for me ?

im not sure if you can adapt yashica lenses but if you can I would say get some ..they are superb

sorry I worded it poorly:D, I am sure you realized what I meant

I'll do some digging now , I'm seriously looking at the 17.5 / 25 voightlander f/0.95 which at £660 totally manual lens needs some serious consideration !

I've been tempted by those....I actually went for a SLR Magic 12mm, built quality is fantastic. I love the step less aperture ring, the smooth focus etc....Superb for video, really really good. For photography, I am actually considering getting the Oly 12mm f2....To much work, why make it hard for yourself when there are fantastic autofocus lenses available...

when I used m4/3 I found the Carl Zeiss Planer 45mm f2 Contax lens and the Konica Hexanon AR 50mm f1.7 to be really good - although the original Metabones Contax G to m4/3 adaptor was a bit of a b****r

More money than the superb Oly 45mm f1.8....Much more bulky, and no autofocus option....Is it really worth it?

I had the Contax lens

I agree that the dedicated m4/3 lens are very good - particularly the Pana 20mm f1.7 which seems to be able to "do everything" within reason, plus the original 14 42mm is good ……. but when you get into m4/3 part of the fun is experimenting and using old MF glass - the Nikon, Canon, (the FD 35mm f2 is good), Pentax and Voigtländer are all worth a try …… the Zeiss lenses were/are in a class of their own …………. one of my favourite lens is the Biogon 28mm f2.8 ZM

Possibly...My main attraction is that it is a small compact package...I guess it is different for anyone....I've played a lot on Nikon with their old lenses which were great for manual focus and automatic metering...However the size and weight make sense there...To me getting a non-native manual focus for more money than an excellent native, auto focus, razor sharp lens...It will have to be spectacular to be worth it...Sure I do manual focus with my native auto focus lenses as well. especially to get the 'zone' for certain type of shots...And with focus peaking on my PEN5 and G6 it is so easy....yet for most scenarios why bother with it....However we are all different...

Hi JP,
the photographic hobby can be "funny" I started with Oly 35mm film cameras - then Nikon F SLRs and Leica RF's - digital came - a small Canon IXUS, but still took some time to drag me away from film - then Nikon DSLR's - a few years ago I thought m4/3 they look great .. dedicated lens really good small package I can carry them around with me all the time - but I found them a little boring, so bought a few adapters and started using my Nikon and Leica RF glass - always went back to my D300 and M8 …… so now I have a draw full of m4/3 adaptors, couple of bodies, 4 or 5 dedicated m4/3 lens ….. which I hardly ever use ……… in fact I have now fitted my D300, D7100 and D700 with grips to make them bigger ……still use the M8 quite a lot ….. but it's usually the DSLR's ……… tried the V1 and FT-1 but too small and not for me
If it's in my pocket it's the Canon S95 ……… but my general move has been to go bigger and bigger ……..

I am not a fan of small cameras … but maybe the Sony A7 or A7r would tempt me as a carry around

As you say 'each to his own"

You can borrow my Mamiya if you want bigger :)

Had a little birthday treat today
Got a mint contax g 90/2.8 and perfect contax g 45/2 from lce at what appears to be a good price , just need a mft adapter now :)

The metabones adaptors are generally the best for Contax-G lenses because they have a more complex mount.

A friend of mine uses the 90/45 on his Nex6 and the adaptors are generally around £80 each. Due to then being more complex, they're more of a pain to fit to the lens than most others so he has an adaptor for each lens and leaves them attached.

Cheers
Steve

Top of my list currently are the Panasonic 14mm 2.5 and the Oly 45mm 1.8

Although knowing me tomorrow they'll be a whole new set im after :D

s the 90/45 iv got and they came with a metabones sony adaptor , is there a valuation thread ?

If you've already got the adaptor then you're good to go. They're both excellent lenses but I prefer the 45mm myself.

Cheers
Steve
