Messing around with 550d and twixtor

it's almost tooo slow, the music ramps up and it's great as it goes into the slow mo then freezes, but after that I'd do the opposite and speed it up for the land as I got a bit bored waiting for the trick to finish

Yeh I agree maybe a little too slow but still good non the less. Maybe would have liked to see a couple of bits going from slow mo to normal speed etc fitting in with the speed of the music.

Im deffo no video expert though, just my opinion. That aside still very impressive. What lens were u using?

Cheers

How come it warped so much? I've seen some pretty cool tests with twixtor an all... I need to understand more in how it works

Was using a tamron 70-300 as the guy was quite a way from the beach. have just finished a short kiteboarding film with twixtor and a little more action. if your interested you can view it on my home page.

The warping was due to me slowing the footage down too much, it seems twixtor likes high contrast film to work with.

Nice, am a kiteboarder from the UK and have been looking at using twixtor myself. How did you find it to use / learn how to use?

^^ that's cool. I currently use Sony Vegas pro 9 for my editing, it looks like there is no twixtor plug-in for Vegas. Does anyone know a good stand alone software that does the same? Was trying to do it manually with the velocity bar but i can't get that super smooth slomo without manipulation between the frames.

This was my first try with twixtor and got all excited and posted it before I had time to go into the settings and tweak it. Bmx vid looks good, the warping is only evident if your looking for it, nice work. With regards to editing I use adobe after effects with the twixtor plug in, not sure if FCP on the mac can be used with twixtor but im sure vegas will have compatibility in the future.

Just finished another kiteboarding vid this time using only the gopro hd and twixtor.

im really impressed with this software and it will be a key feature for most of my extreme sports projects.

I don't think you can get these slow mo results without twixtor. However I have had twixtor for quite a long time now and I rarely use it as I think too much can make a video ugly and boring to watch. Normal ramp slow mo is what I use most of the time, and this is what my video looks like using just vegas pro 9: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YB1D9KC69k&feature=channel_video_title

And I really like this video, much better than the 1st. The music is better too as I didn't like the first song. Well done!
