Merging light trails

I'm looking to merge light trails from multiple images. I have seen it on a video once before merging lightening strikes but I can't find it now.

Much appreciated if someone can point me in the right direction

In Photoshop, simply chucking all the images into layers and setting the blend mode to 'lighten' would get you most of the way there (depending on what else is going on in the images).

I use a program called Startrails but shoot them in JPEG not raw!

Why is that Mark?

Startrail program only layers jpegs! Otherwise you would have to convert each one to JPEG! And to be fair a JPEG star image is not a lot different to a raw image
