Yes
I was looking at a 56 plate C220 CDI coupe, I've put down deposit and going to get the car end of this week. But looking online there appear to be a common problem with Merc diesels known as Black death. Quick checks include looking at top of the engine for carbon build-up, listening for chuffing sounds for signs of injector leakage.

Main question is anyone know how to remove this plastic engine cover? (see attachment)

Are there any other checks I need to be doing before paying full amount?

Should just be a pull off job, start at the back of it.

Both but more upwards, mind you I am saying that based on a 2010 C class diesel.
