I'm passing the time of day creatively, designing a web site for my images. I can't wrap my brain around the menu layout. Main bank of images are to do with running events. I want to put up a few other areas that I enjoy snapping - travel, our dog, landscapes etc etc.
The thought of a mile long menu doesn't seem to appeal. Can anyone think of just two headings that I can use? One for my running shots and one for the rest of the images. RUNNING and NOT RUNNING aren't very imaginative. RUNNING GALLERY OTHER STUFF GALLERY

Thanks for that artdemole. It's surprising how difficult it is to encapsulate an idea. :)

How about Running and Other with the Other button giving a drop down selection with further options?

OTHER sounds a bit bland - it's driving me mad! A word that says, " That was really worth taking!" Thanks for your input, much appreciated.

Personally I wouldn't separate by categories using a menu like the at all. I'd have them together but implement a filter that can be applied using a tagging system.

That way you could have a dynamic menu as well. And or have a decent search system.

The problem with rigid categories is where you place those photos that cross over? With tags you simply assign them to multiple categories.

But ultimately the question has to be what is the purpose of the website. Who is the targeted audience? And what do they want?

Thanks for that. The audience ... the people who look at my Flickr albums and donate money to malarianomore. A FB page is so restricting for organizing things and I have people contacting me about where to donate and where can I find.
PLUS, I'm an OAP and I'm trying to keep the grey matter working. Anything but watch Mr Kyle and Homes Under The Hammer.
