I have been told that after several years of steadily falling prices, Memory cards (and modules for computers) are going to start rising. From what I've heard, manufacturers have already raised their prices and wholesalers are going to in the new year. If you're planning a memory purchase, now might be a good time to make it!

Of course, my information could be wrong but the chap who told me wasn't trying to sell me any memory and knows I tend to buy it online or anywhere that has it on special offer so had no vested interest in telling me porkies!

Despite my normal slight aversion to large capacity cards, I'll be heading out to Currys/PCWorld to see if they still have the twin packs of 16 GB SanDisk Ultra SD cards for £19.

There is some truth to it.

Prices of memory spiked after the floods in taiwan last year and supplies were again impacted by floods this year. Prices actually have gone up, or stopped falling in real terms.

Don't think there'll be a major shift in pricing unless there is another supply shock.:)
