memory cards

Looking to buy a couple of memory cards for my D750 and just wondering whether it would be better to go with UHS I as per the camera's spec (albeit with lower write speeds than the camera is capable of utilising), or whether a UHS II card would work with the camera at the top end of the camera's capability albeit not at the top end of the card's capabilities?

my gut is that the UHS II cards should be backwards compatible and work just fine in the camera at the camera's fastest available write speed but i know from past experience that isn't always the case with this sort of thing!

Cheers kodiac, I did find one article that says the uhs ii cards can actually be counter productive speed wise as the camera isn't designed for them so I'll stick with the uhs I version and save some cash in the process!
