Does anyone know if it is cheaper to buy memory cards here or in the USA?
 
Dont know, but i buy mine from "mymemory.com" which are based in jersey so you pay less tax....

Is there anywhere that I can find out what cards are compatible with my camera?
 
Generally cheaper in the UK which I found strange as usually everythiong is cheaper over there than here. It is probably due to me useing online prices from the UK and shop prices in the US places like best buy, ritz camera and the other electrical shops found in the malls. Most now have websites so you can check online before you go.

The 450D uses SD and SDHC cards.

Depending on your budget and the Speed you require, try looking for the Transcend class 6 SDHC (secure digital high capcity) there range is budget but very good.

And concider would you be better with 2 or 3 low capacity say 1GB or 2GB then your only looking as SD not SDHC and would save a few quid, try Play.com or Amazon there usually pretty good.
