memory card query

Hi I have a D7000 which has dual SDXC slots

Currently got a mix of 8-16Gb cards because was going along lines of change memory card often to prevent loss of all images

If I set the camera up so both slots record the same image (raw and medium jpeg) ie making a backup as I go, is it a good idea to load up with 2x 64Gb cards in this mode? Would it impact on the camera performance and buffer if it needs to copy to both cards at once?

I've got a similar situation...a camera with two card slots. I shoot RAW but also record a fine JPEG image. For the type of shooting I do most of the time (landscapes, cityscapes, events, family portraits) I don't experience any measurable slow-down. If I was shooting sports or other events needing long bursts of shots in the hope of capturing that "perfect image" then it would seem likely that there would be some impact on speed of shooting.

If I recall correctly, the D7000 isn't blessed with excess buffer, so that could impact things, I suppose.
