Memory card help

I have a Kingston memory card which works in my D3100 but not my D7000. The D7000 doesn't recognize the card and wont let me format it. I try formatting it again with the D3100 but that doesn't help.

Can anyone help me with this?

Long shot but is the protection switch in the off position? (On the card)

Switch is on, the card works fine in the D3100.

If its on it probably will be fine on the 3100 but protected on any other body I think.

Couldn't you not try formatting it on your computer?

Thanks for the reply's. I have tried formatting it on my laptop but it still wont work on the D7000. The lock on the card is off.

Anyone had this kinda thing happen to them?
