According to the BBC News on Radio 4 this morning, this was also reported in The Telegraph as well as The Sun. Gives a bit more credence to the story dont you think?! Apparently the papers even critiqued the photos the Meerkats took!

Ian Turner, ..... said he was amazed to discover the images on the digital memory card.

I would be too. Its an EOS650 or similar ... takes up to 36 shots on 35mm media....
