Medium Format Choices

I hadn't realised that the price was as low as that. But don't underestimate the limitations of a view camera for portraiture - the subject has time to move out of focus while you're inserting the film.

I know that you can get tilt lenses for the Mamiya cameras, but I'm not sure that it works out cheaper than the SL66, which has the capability of tilt with every lens. On Ffordes' website right now, the 75mm f/4.5 shift for the RB67 in just good condition is £400 by itself. You can pick up an SL66 kit for about £500.

Well the SL66 has dropped in price, last time I looked a few years ago they were over £1000...some cheap ones sold in the US though and they seem to be selling cheaper in Germany..maybe Rollei going down the pan has something to do with it. Also the 80mm was a good lens except in reverse macro but maybe I had one not 100% as the results from the RB and etrs are just as good for sharpness although there is something about Zeiss lenses for colour when done the old way in the darkroom before digi manipulation..
I also had the 250mm lens.
