Medical photography opportunity

Don't think I'd enjoy it much. Shooting all manner of `orrible tumours, accident victims, autopsies and the like: "Right, bed six. 90 year old male. We need a close-up of his piles."

How much is `band 5` anyway?

what is the band 5 pay min and max?

I've found with NHS jobs it'll be for example; 18-24k but you have to start on the min amount and it'll be XX months or years before you get to the top of the band.

Then, as in the case here the first 16 months are spent getting only 75% of the band, and they always require a degree for the medical profession. :(

I have a medical based degree, and have looked into this role before, I would love to work in medical illustration but just haven't got round to doing the photography qualifications needed for it yet. Maybe one day!

I appreciate it is a fine art and requires (in this case) a degree, but I do wonder who decided that medical photographers and Paramedics should be on the same pay band?

Why do you feel they shouldn't be?

Salary during the training programme (18 months); 70% top of Band 5 for 4 months, then 75% top of Band 5 for 12 months. Moving to the bottom point of Band 5 on successful qualification and demonstrating the appropriate level of skills/experience to become a Band 5 Clinical Photographer.

Sounds as if they are looking to make a pop group :lol::lol:
