Itunes is fine for managing my ipod but otherwise I want something that will do what its told! What do you peeps use?

I guess I meant for music. I have downloaded songbird to give it a go.

Out of interest, what are you looking for the player to do that iTunes won't do? :)

Play albums whilst I sort stuff out in iTunes! If you are loading your iPod etc then you can't listen to one album. A little thing but using songbird whilst iTunes is busy seems to work! I used to use mediamonkey on the pc for everything but iPod maintenance.

?

I have all albums sorted as play lists, always been able to select a playlist and play it while sorting out iPhone/iPad/iPods.

even does it while doubletwist connects to iTunes and wirelessly syncs Android handset.

You see, I have never loved iTunes enough to do the playlist thing and it's a right faff for something that it should do without making a load of playlists. I think I am happy with my solution though, songbird seems fine.

I'm going to have to check out this Songbird thing :)

it's not a faff, for albums its a click and drag. nothing simpler. if its a dislike of iTunes there is other methods of syncing devices (lot more for windows) so you can get shut all together.

I have no problem syncing, it works fine and is the best way to sync devices but the whole album playing bit is just silly. I am happy with my solution and just don't fancy making and then deleting playlists all the time. We shall just all be happy with what we do! ;)
