Going to try and explain what my problem is,i'm only guessing about the GC .

Sometimes when i go to scroll up on an open page,say i'm on here and i go to scroll up ,the detail ...ie text or whatever ends up like multiple vertical solid lines and then a split second later go back to what it should (making any sense)....Also ,if the computers left idle for any length of time (but not everytime ) the monitor displays as a solid colour (not always the same colour) only option after that is to close down the desktop,and another thing it also get quite warm ,i'm crap at explaining .

All fans are working whilst desktop is running ,i've checked this .

Any ideas :shrug:
 
Not too sure, you could check your screen res and refresh rate, if that looks ok then it seems likely it is pointing to a card related problem.
 
well this morning i have a virus warning all over my home page ,my shorts are still there ,but the background is blue with row s of like binary numbers going like this ...

110100110011100011110001000111000111000111000111000,this covers the whole screen ,and there's a popup called system tool warning me that i'm infected with spy ware ,malware,Trojan ..you name looks like i have it :shake:

Also on the homepage in big red writing it says

WARNING

DANGER

Then it goes on about sending emails and hard drives . This system tool offers to help but at a cost ,what do you reckon is this a virus or not :bang:,how the hell do i rid myself of all this crap .

How do i copy and paste my homepage so i can show it ?

My security is Microsoft security essentials ,and up to now it hasn't picked up any viruses

My GC is only about 4 months old and it was fitted in a shop .

my refresh rate is noot too bad ,but if i open another tab on a link it can take 20-30 seconds to open.

Using youyube ..well i don't even bother just now ,all it does is run for a couple of seconds then its buffering then starts then more buffering .

Fair enough about the choc fireguard ,but this has been recomened to me as was AVG as was Norton so tell me who do i believe when there are so many to pick from ??
 
Type some of the exact phrases you get come up as warnings into google search and you should get some hits to tell you what you are dealing with and tell you which anti malware programs might deal with it.

Make sure your backups are up to date before doing anything drastic. Preferably new backups rather than connect a backup drive with your stuff on it to an infected PC.

I use Kaspersky on my main PC and its been very good. I also have MSE on my netbook and no problems there either although it does need poking sometimes to get the latest update.
 
Norton - avoid like the plague. Avast is about the best of the free ones. AVG became very bloated a couple of years ago. Again, avoid. MSE is supposed to be quite good though...

rubbish. MSE is basically a rebranded copy of AntiGen after MS bought them out and that was always very high up the rankings.

it sounds like the OP has picked up a fake antivirus program which is possible if you click the wrong thing, no matter what anti-virus you're running.

it does not sound like it is related to the original post though, that sounds like a low resource and/or hardware issue.
 
Rofl @ recommending Norton. May as well leave the viruses there, they'll do far less damage and that comes from someone in a company that debeaked and packed the Norton engine. Stick with MSE or Sophos. Forget the rest.
 
this is exactly how people get confused with the ,this ones better than that ,i've learned an incredible amount about computers today ....their a total waste of my bloody time .How people sit at these day in day out beats the crap outa me ,i've now got the RPIS,and my ass is numb ..RRRRRRant over !!!!

In the end i've gone with Avast ...now someone will tell me that's crap as well ... i've ordered chocolate fire guard of ebay ,should be here this week if it don't work i'll eat the b****r ,and if that doesn't work ama gona burn disa compo slowly buta surely :D

I'm going mad :lol:
