Hi,

I hope someone might be able to help here; and if Garry is online I'm really hoping he'll know the answer!

I have a set of Lencarta Smartflash 200 lights and was wondering what the maximum weight of modifier is that I can safely attach without breaking either the s-type mount or the ratchet for light stand attachment?

I've been lucky enough to be given a whole bunch of modifiers including a 200cm octagonal softbox (photosel) and an Elinchrom 100cm deep octa - I just want to be sure I won't break the lights before I fit them :-) (I also have the appropriate speed rings so I can mount the Elinchrom to the s-type bayonet on the Smartflash)

Many thanks in advance for your help,

Simon

The weight of those modifiers are all fine. The issue is if someone attempts to change the angle of the light by pulling on the bottom of the Octa/modifier. Due to the length of leverage (outer Octa edge to fladh head mount), the amount of force will likely damage the ABS mount lug.

As Above. As with everything else, common sense and care is needed, but the equipment is up to the job.

I've used the 70cm beauty dish with the SmartFlash, and that's the heaviest modifier I've seen in this country.

:-) thanks, all! That's exactly what I was hoping to hear!

Now to go and play...
