Matty Says.....

the quality of the thread was obviously Freudian

Just noticed ... your first Matty says JL ... is that Rob on the left ... ... :suspect:

:p

As typo's go that's one of the best.

Some years ago I worked for a company who made ties and scarves. One of my jobs was to send the samples to customers for their approval ahead of full production. We were doing some beautiful printed silk ties for a well known insurance company - the design they wanted was a galleon sailing on a moonlit sea with white crests to the waves, but all the way through the process we were having terrible trouble with the other colours bleeding into the white. On about the fourth attempt at sampling I wrote to them intending to make my opening paragraph "Once again I must apologise for the white on your ties" - however, if you notice on your keyboard, "w" and "s" aren't a millions miles apart.....! :bonk:

My boss caught it before it went out to much hilarity and the 'enlarged to A3 size' letter, with relevant passage highlighted, went on the wall of the office!

  Have you lived that one down yet?

It took a while.....was about 12 years ago now but still makes me giggle thinking about it. I always proof read letters now before they go.

Another favourite (from someone else this time) was a while ago in my current job. I work in the construction industry dealing with - among other things - cranes. Hence we use the slightly odd word "Cranage" to describe working with a crane. Unfortunately MS Word's autocorrect tends to automatically correct it to "Carnage" which is a little unfortunate. It came through to me in that form in a fax from a buyer......class! :D

On a similar theme, I changed the auto correct options for email on someones machine at work. I made it change and into mug. It was great when he tried to send this email to someone else in the office.
"I have ordered them doors and should be delivered next week"

"I have ordered them doors and should be delivered next week"

I recall reading about a church where they used a global replace function to change the order of service for funerals, simply replacing the name of the previous departed to the next one.

Somebody clearly forgot the significance of this technique when they changed the name from Mary to Ada one week.

The priest was apparently surprised to find himself saying, "Holy Ada, Mother of God"

Probably not as surprised as the congregation.

pftfft

Lol funny...

i did not have the balls to bring it back to life....

Blimey! When you resurrect a thread from six years ago it throws up all sorts of forgotten names from the past!

I wonder what became of Matty? :naughty:
