Matt vinyl backdrop/background.

Is there such a thing?

Just wondering if anyone is using white matt vinyl (non reflective),as a background.
Not for high key work but as a smooth, hard wearing substitute for paper/material.
Searching around it seems it's available in grey and black, but not white.

I use a lastolite white vinyl and its very good, wipes clean easily and is very hard wearing. Does its job perfectly.

True, I only use vinyl as its easy to clean and lasts longer, but then its a lot more expensive!

I haven't used paper yet...maybe that's the way to go.
I'm getting good results with heavy white material, like this....

but it's Maintenance !

They look good value, but they always say "high key".

its only high key if you backlight it.

backlight vinyl? you light vinyl from the front, you would light something like ripstop nylon from the back ala EGs softwall or a highlight

ok sorry place lights behind your subjects lighting the vinyl to high light it, if you dont do that you will be fine.
