Hey all,

You guys know me, help me find these guys....!

Examples of Bailey on 35mm etc...

Cutting down majorly on my gear, RZ is sold to Asha, ME Super is all I have left, so 35mm it is...FUN ONLY. No more stressing myself out...

Kindest

Danny

Still love Dave Hill's B&W portfolio, which is mostly 35mm

I've only ever shot a couple of rolls of 35mm, and never devved any at home (all been colour), but I have 4 rolls of HP5 in 35mm just waiting for a go :D

Good to know you haven't given up completely Danny, it should be fun even when it's work.

I still really like Terry O'Neill's work. I've never devved 35mm either though it looks more fiddly than 120 format to me with having to get it out of the canister in the dark. I struggle just getting a roll of 120 onto a spool :D

I'd not be too worried about the format overall if you don't like the results from the hp5. Personally, I love it in 120, but really can't get excited about it in 35mm. Not sure why either, just find that smaller images on it are a bit "shrug of the shoulders" and lack the pop of their larger neg cousins.

Fully agree....glad to see you're still going to be around F & C Danny

Have to confess that I find shooting 35mm "fun" where as I tend to be much more serious towards larger format shooting ........Wouldn't go so far as to say it stresses me out but it can without doubt be challenging.

I'm looking forward to using the RZ .....will be the most modern medium format piece of kit I own ........To get results like what you produced with it, now that will be one h*ll of a challenge :D :D

Thanks dude, we'll see how long it lasts, lol. The frustration and stress was my own fault, putting too much emphasis on getting somewhere with photography, and not just enjoying the ride I guess....

Indeed, I've never loaded 35mm either. You know I struggled with 120 for a short while, lol. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it quite quickly.

And yes I like Terry O'Neills work alot too :)

I'm excited to see how it goes actually and how the differences in format compare. I'm cool with grainy and moody so might reserve HP5 for high iso as required.

Shooting medium format doesn't stress me out at all, in fact I'd go even further and say that if I ever get really into photography again I'm going large format...full on love it!

Results with that camera and lens have been relatively easy :) meter...point...focus...click, simples ;)

Where was the stress then?

Not getting where I want to go with my photography, unsuccessful magazine submissions, unhappy with the standard of my images and so on...I put lots of pressure on myself and I should've just cruised and enjoyed it as a hobby.

The format has nothing to do with it :) Though now I'm shooting for fun I must admit the convenience of 35mm is appealing.

Everytime i go through that Dave hill 35mm stuff it makes me want to sell this d700 and digi stuff and plummet all of that money into film.. hell, it's what I enjoy shooting with anyway!

ARRRGGGGH

Do it :)

I'll never own a dslr again. The day I stop shooting film will be the day I quit totally
