Mass destruction of the Canon cameras

I'm sure we have seen this before, and many came to the conclusion that they were fake/counterfeit being destroyed

Yeah someone posted this a while ago.

It's pretty distressing though :(

 :'(

Not again! This topic seems to be becoming a manatory thread on all forums these days.

Right :D:lol: I suppose Nikon do need all the help they can get

I don't understand!!!! why not give the lenses to TP to distribute to Canon users FOC...

those guy's with the hammers will surley have a great collection of Canon gear now.... i wonder if they have any jobs going????

It's just a pile of damaged mass produced goods. As long as my kit isn't there, I couldn't care less.

^^^ It's the only chance Nikon have got

I could care less, Its a total waste of money for a start. Everyone is complaining about the enviroment but people will happily smash something like a 3 grand lens up and be fine with it.

A relevent quote:
"well what the blog didnt say is what they do with that stuff, thats canons recycling program, they take in the damaged products, or trashed products by the consumer, u can go to their website and learn more about it, they don’t actually trash all of that, they recycle the old parts into new products, or refurbished products, (i.e, you send in your broken dslr for repairs, your replacement parts are coming from those trashed products.. so its not like they are just throwing it all away, hence them sorting thru the products, sorting lens, bodies, ext…"

The best quote :P
"…but will it blend?"

They have got to be fakes or the lord would have smitten them for such wilful desecration!!!!
Jim

This just looks like returned goods being destroyed, preventing them from being put back into the market.

Not fakes, genuine pukka gear!

Apparently they were all damaged in the container they were shipped in, and rather than take the chance of problems/future problems it was safer to destroy them and claim back the insurance instead.

This process is very common and just about every manufacturer does it, it's better to write off stock than have it come back and ruin your reputation, cost a fortune putting right or have to supply a new one after all.
