Marumi Lens Hoods

Im after a hood for the 17-40mm F4L as the one supplied with it not upto much on a crop sensor, so been considering the EW-83J but that thing to expensive for wat it is.

Anyways Marumi do the same kind of hood but it at least £25 cheaper are these hoods just as good quality wise as the Canon ones.
 
The hood for the 17-40 is really only useful in stopping people banging into you lens. In fact I seldom use mine preferring a card or some other object to shield the lens if needed.

As regards the Marumi hoods, I've never used one, but it is only a lens hood after all. It's not going to be in the image path ( hopefully) so it's build quality wont make much difference to the image.
 
Thanks for that i save myself some money and not bother with one for the time being at least.
 
Plenty of cheap lens hoods on ebay if you search for the model number :thumbs:
