Just a quick word of praise for an outfit I've just used: Martin's Camera Shop

I've just bought a Canon 5D mk2 and 24-105mm from them.

I did a fair bit of hunting around for a good bargain and these guys gave me the best price I could find. They were courteous, efficient and friendly and the kit, plus a few extra bits I ordered from them, arrived in a good state as and when promised (after some delays imposed by Canon!).

I recommend them highly and I shall certainly do some more business with them once my bank account heals

How many lenses are made in the UK?

All the goods are supplied with a VAT amount and reference,so yes, they are imported from Japan/Korea/Uzbeckistan but they are declared to C&E, so no problems with the manufacturers.

Copy and paste the address into google maps and look at street view its a unit with no shop sign

if I remember correctly they did have a sign up at one stage
and like some one else said they used to sell grey imports

My father wants to buy a 600d from Martins.

It appears they are very well priced (though less so without the discount from Canon), but does anyone know if the £50 cash-back offer from Canon is only for UK sourced stock?

I think they may be grey imports from this shop, so I think Canon wont honour the cash-back.

But their page has canon 600d image showing "£50 cash-back". Why dont I ring them? I will on Monday, but they are shut for the weekend.

If you have a look on Canons web site re the cashback, they used to say from participating shops and you could search on there.

I can't see them mentioned on Canon's site on the cashback page.
