I have a canon ip47000 printer and have just started to print onto dvd printable discs (taiyo yuden watershield). The problem I have is once printed there is about 5 lines on the disc, they look like scuff marks from the rollers has anyone else had this problem?

I've had a similar problem on a couple of printers. It may be ink offsetting from either a previous CD or other print. I find I get it if I try and add an additional field to the CD and have not left it long enough to dry. .

You could try cleaning the rollers if you can get at them. This helps a bit. However I found that keeping back a duff CD/DVD and running it through the print operation a couple of times with a blank template, cleans the up . Bit of a pain though.

You might want to consider running a blank sheet of reasonably thick paper through the printer prior to printing CD's/ DVD's to clean the rollers up.

A posibility could be that you have selected the wrong kind of medium in the printer settings?

I used to find with an old epson, if I printed on gloss paper, with a matte setting, the printer didn't realise the ink took longer to dry, and was still a bit damp and being picked up by the spiky rollers as the paper went through. Setting it to gloss slowed down the print, i appears enough for it to dry (or perhaps less ink?)

thanks for the replies. the cd/dvd fits into a tray which then slots into the front of the printer, no paper goes through this. I will try the printer settings thanks again.
