Marks 52 the next 6 months..... Week 52 Texture and I'm done!

More catchup (I'll have no time for photos at this rate)

Season - Excellent photo! The different styles people have put on salt and pepper have amazed me! Given me a lot of food for thought (no pun intended!)

Grunge - I quite agree with all. Really goo composition. You should like it a little more than you do! Very good shot.

Thank you, I do like just wasn't sure it was grungy enough!

Stark and grungey (music wise) - I like it and its an original spin!

Its as sharp as anything and the conversion/processing really appeals!

Very nice indeed!

Thanks John

...nothing to not like here....

I agree about the pocket money too

Only minor point to make is on your choice of aperture....I don't know what lens you used but is f/8 the sharp (sweet spot) of it?

mm good point:thinking:, I've always shot my studio shots at f8, I nearly always use the 18-55 kit lens too. I was under the impression that most lenses perform best in the middle of their range.... am I confused:shrug: it wouldn't be the first time:lol:

Mark:thumbs:

Phew, I'm pleased I didn't go for salt and pepper!

I agree with the unecessary salt at the front of the picture but that's just a minor niggle. Yet another great take on the theme :clap:

Grunge, great composition, great PP, great idea. Oh, and I like it ;)

..some say the rule of thumb is 2-3 stop from wide open....
I'd hit google and find out if there is any info. on the best /f for that lens...

maybe it is f8 :D

I'll have a look around and see what I can find, thanks for the info:thumbs:

Thank you Jill, very kind:)

Respect is word often used but not well understood, you have to earn respect you can't get it any other way. To many people seem to think that it is a right and their behaviour to others does not diminish it in any way..... anyway enough of that, here is my take on respect.

Having just celebrated 15 years of marriage I could think of no better example of how respect for others and yourself can build the foundations of a good relationship!

Mark

Congratulations, Mark - and to your wife. :)

This is a lovely take on the theme, and illustrates the importance of respecting your partner's views and wishes.

A pleasing, simple composition - works really well. I would like to see it a little darker to pull back the highlights - but jewellery is notoriously hard to photograph. I like the shadow, too - it adds interest to the shot. :)

:agree:

That is a great take on the theme and well done :D

Congratulations to the both of you on 15 years. The take on the theme is superb, very simple, elegant and yet spot on.

:agree: Yes a lovely take on this weeks theme...

Well done, great idea and congratulations again...:clap::clap:

Wow! That's very good.

I had similar thoughts for the interpretation of the theme, but just couldn't get any inspiration on how to present it photographically. You've done it brilliantly though
I love the composition and the image really speaks for itself. Maybe it could be just a touch darker, but I don't know . . . it works so well just as it is.

Congratulations on your 15th anniversary too.

Excellent take on the theme! Really like this. If I was to nit pick I'd like it a smidge darker, but that's just being picky. Great photo all the same

Ohh! And congrats

The brightness for me has real impact....very nice take on this weeks theme...how did Mrs Maddog like the image and concept? :)

Thank you all for your kind words, which I will pass on to Mrs Maddog too. I think she likes it, to be honest I haven't really asked her..... :$

Sorry if I haven't got round to commenting on your pictures yet I've lost track of a few I think.

Jeff, no not yet, I did find an article on it, but I confused myself reading it and haven't had the chance to go back and re-read it yet.;)

That is a great interpretation of the theme maddog.mark. Wish I had thought of that as I really struggled with this weeks theme. That is a love colour of gold on those rings.
I like the blown out white myself.

Grunge, WOW, I really like that one!! Well done indeed

Respect - a very nice, simple shot, that should definatley represent Respect!

Thank you for your kind comments Kiwi and Shorty:thumbs:

Father humbled by 10 year old daughter!

I have failed, luckily for me Bethan has succeeded. My attempts were cluttered and really just snaps despite my efforts, Bethans was clean and portrays friendship so well.
Thank you Bethan xx

I will try and redo this theme as I feel like a fraud, it's just been a really busy week:bang::rules:

Mark:thumbs:

Ooooh you cheat! :p :)

Congratulations to Bethan on this one
I have a real soft spot for dog photos anyway but that's a lovely sensitive shot. Really sums up the theme beautifully.

She's got a great eye for a photograph and the timing of this is spot on. She's caught that one moment perfectly.

As well as a great entry for the 52s, it's a lovely memory shot. I definitely think it's worthy of printing.

Cracker, this one. Sums it up perfectly for me. Well done

Spot on Mark Bethan... You've lost the camera now Mark :D... Nought wrong with a bit of cheating...

Wow! Excellent photo! She's definitely a chip off the old block eh! But I demand TWO photos next week you cheat :D

Thats a lovely shot - somehow enhanced by the movement in your head :)

Really nice - well done Bethan :)

Thanks for the comments folks, which I have shared with the photographer! I still haven't got a friendship picture that comes close to this one!

Uploading this appears to have made it a bit darker! Ho hum I may re edit it.

Anyhow I give you a fresh start to the day!

Thanks

Mark:thumbs:

:clap::clap: I love this shot. You've made lovely use of dof and those warm citrusy colours are fantastic. They look great against the yellowy wall in the background.

The whole thing looks so fresh and appetising that I can almost taste the orange. It's something I could see on the page of a food magazine.

Now why didn't I think of this interpretation

p.s. The brightness looks fine on my monitor (although I know that this laptop tends to be a bit bright)

Catch up time. :)

Friendship - Many congrats to Bethan on a fabulous shot. You must be very proud of her. As for cheating - well you DID model for her! :D

:clap::clap::clap: to Bethan. :)

Fresh Start - Ooooh lovely colours - warm, sunny, and, well, fresh. :D A great start to the day. The composition and dof work well and I like the tight crop at the bottom. It shouldn't work, but it does.

Jean

Looks good and Fresh to me :) Think I'd like to have seen the bottom of the dish - but I do like the composition across the image there's a nice balance there :) DOF is very nice too!

Nice shot !

Like Dark Star I'd have liked to see the bottom of the dish but the colour is great, as are the DoF and composition. Well done!

Very well done Mark... another idea I had but couldn't manager to pull off. I think seeing the bottom of the bowl would have been good, but it might have upset the balance of the overall image a little..

:agree: Yes I agree but overall it works very well, well done...

Thanks for all the kind comments folks.

fresh start : come on there has to be a reason behind cutting off the bottom of the dish and the fruit and part of the spoon...spill the beans :)

love the colours and dof

Reason you say..... not composing the shot properly and then eating the grapefruit and drinking the orange juice before realising:bonk:

Mark

Hi Mark

Respect - love the high key PP on this :clap: , and belated congratulations on your Anniversary.

Friendship - Well done Bethany (although I suppose you should get some credit for thinking about it in the first place ;));) Great shot for the theme.

Fresh Start:thumbs: - well, I'm glad I'd already taken my picture for this (although I haven't posted it yet :() because I might not have bothered . And hope you've learned the lesson of not eating your props (unless it's choccy :D) before checking your shots :lol:

Yes, I like this shot too the colours and the DoF work very well  from me

thats some very tastey looking orange juice. My only complaint is the b/g is a little cluttered.

Nice fresh start photo  Love the different detail you brought into this

Thank you all for the comments, again apologies if I've not commented on your pictures, I'm finding it hard to keep up with everything at the moment.
