Marks 52 the next 6 months..... Week 52 Texture and I'm done!

Really like the Lemon shot for Easy. Yes the background could be tweaked a bit, maybe using black card would make the lemon and juicer stand out more

It´s a nice sharp shot, well on theme :clap::clap:

ps, what about a square crop

Thanks Jill and yes a square crop may work better:thumbs:

A slightly abstract attempt at colour this week

thanks for looking

Mark:thumbs:

Nice idea, just trying to think what they are? Headbands?

Now that's bit different it's and good idea and works for the theme but I would have liked to have seen a bit more colour in the front of the shot, it's spot on looking at the back of the shot guess it could be a bit of flash burn out. Still a good idea though mark...

Good idea Mark. It's worked very well... although I think I agree with Marcus... perhaps a little stronger colour at the front of the shot. As for what it is, those bands are part of a larger overall object, there's material texture on the gaps in between... back cloth I reckon. so... cushions ? or something to do with a chair ?

Thanks Marcus, I see what you mean about the front of the shot, maybe a bit more saturation required.

Everyone's had such good ideas this week! Really unusual shot and it works so well.
I can't quite work out what they are though

Thank you.

Me neither - but whatever they are, they look good. I like the colours and the texture. Fits the theme really well. :)

Jean

Very kind Jean, thank you.

annnnd we have a winner, 2 cushions to be precise!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.

Fine shot Mark, reminds me of the linear shots of a few weeks ago, took me a moment to work out what I was looking at but it fits the theme well.

Looks like a pyschedelic ploughed field on rolling farmland :) No sense of scale which foxes the eye I guess

I like it and I quite like the muted colours - well seen and taken! :)

Colour doesn't have to be strong and in your face so I really like this. I like the composition and the DoF is spot on and sharp in all the right places you you get bothe texture and colour.:clap::clap::clap:

Thanks again for all the comments, glad you liked it, and yes I could have used it for Linear, only the cushions are new.

This week I'm in early with Food. It's a bit out of the box, well flower actually, but the butterfly is definitely getting a feed!

Thanks

Mark:thumbs:

Nice idea, I guess food doesnt have to be food we eat, animals as well, never thought of that. Well Done :)

Very nice shot Mark. Lovely and sharp in all the right places, good colours, and that flutterby is sipping away. Well done

Thanks both, the full size Tiff is currently in pride of place on my desktop. I love this picture.

Hello again, Mark! Highlight, really good idea!! As the others have said, I think it would have been massively improved with a whiter background. Fun, I did a very similar thing only using a trampoline. Great expression and you have my sympathy over the hands. My favourite shot by miles when I did it had a missing hand so had to go with a different one I didn't like as much. Easy, I was being thick too, took me a while to work out what was going on there... Colour, nice and simple and works well. Food is very nice, I do miss seeing butterflies!

:clap::clap: I really don't know what to say to this one
I think it's very close to being perfect for me.

Beautiful subject matter - flutterbys & flowers are really my sort of thing.
Processing is spot on. Love the background. Colours and sharpness are all there.
I love it

I can see why you have it on your desktop.

says it all for me, very well done

Thank you very much.

Thanks dizzy, good to see you back.

Wow..very impressive. That shot is so sharp. Very nice.

Glad you like it

Blimey high praise indeed, thank you very much.:)

Top shot in every way, Mark. I really love it and hve gone back to look at it several times. No wonder it's on your desktop. I'd want it very large on the wall!

Jean

Many thanks Jean, I'm glad that I have provided a picture that keeps bringing at least one person back.:D

Oh how I nearly put in butterfly shot and I'm so glad I didn't...you would have knocked my clean out of the water...:clap::clap:

That's a superb shot mate and a perfect example of how to take a macro shot...:clap::clap:

Nice shot, can't be easy getting butterfly shots, so well done on that alone
I like this

What a different take on food. Fantastic imagination you've got there Mark

But it's also a fantastic photograph too :clap::clap::clap:

Not at all.
Very well deserved IMO - I still love this shot.

Excellent shot! Love it. Not much else I can say really!

Many thanks for all your comments folks, I'm really chuffed to have got such praise for a picture that I also really love. I think a print is in order!

Mark:thumbs:

This was a trickier theme than first imagined so I opted for the rather obvious use of a camera and film for this week. There's at least three interpretations of exposed here, can you spot them all.:naughty:

Thanks for looking:thumbs:

Two shots that couldn't be further apart but both great

Food : Wonderfully sharp and soft at the same time with lovely colours ! Great

Exposed: Sharp, well composed and taken - a very stylish looking shot!

I just love that exposed shot! In regards to overexposure this was close to what I was trying to achieve with mine, but you managed to make the colours work much better! Simple yet extremely effective.

(And I think I can pick out all 3 "exposed" parts of the photo... ;) overexposed, film exposed... only one I'm unsure of is the 3rd... back of camera open?)

I agree, that's a very good shot. Well done, and spot on theme covering a number of different variations too.

How did I miss that food shot, superb stuff.

I really like your exposed shot, love the old camera and the film strip, the reflection, excellent.

I get where you are going with the high key look and I know its just my novice mentality, I know you are using over exposure creatively but my mind beginners mindset is to expose "correctly" so I struggle to get past that looking at the image.

A great interpretation of this weeks theme.

Colour - no idea what they are but I like the idea. The colours are quite muted but I don’t think that is a bad thing.

Food - Lovely, lovely shot (it helps that I had a similar idea!). The colours are all very complimentary and the composition spot on. I’d be well chuffed with that one.:clap::clap:

Exposed - Again I like the composition and everything is sharp. Nothing bad to say other than the idea is not setting me alight.

Yep that would be all three, plus of course the shot itself which is of course an exposure!:rules:

You'll get used to it, I'm enjoying this high key stuff, if it truly is high key!

Thanks for your comments, I think the food shot is one of the best pictures I've ever taken, I looked back at some butterfly shots I took last year and realised how far I had come photographically..... still got a long way to go mind.

Really like the processing on your last shot :D

Thank you
great retro feel...

Thank you

I'm annoyed about the straps on camera to be honest. I should have removed them, but never mind we live and learn.

I wish that you hadn't pointed that out :bat:

I was thinking "What a fantastic shot", but now that you've mentioned the straps, then yes, maybe it would be better without - they don't really detract too much from the photo though.

I agree about the retro feel of this, it's something that I could see as a poster or flier for a camera shop. Well done. I like it!
