Hiya Mark,
First of all, I am so embarrased that I have missed your project, especially after all the the time and effort you have made to comment on my Photo52 without me reciprocating the effort, so please accept my humble apology.
I stumbled upon your Photo52 just as I was escaping the house this afternoon to go for a very long walk in the woodlands and along the canal (with camera). So I had a quick peek at your pics to think about them as I wondered, and decided to dedicate some time to your thread this evening.
So ..... I will now have 2 x TP windows open (so I can view all pics and have a good read at previous comments), a glass of wine charged, a box of chocs and you have my undivided attention for the next hour or so:
Here we go:
Week 1: hmmmm ..... I seem to recall seeing this OP 2 months ago and wondering where you were going with this project .... so unfortunately it got put to the back of the list (especially as there were so many interested partakers of the current themed Photo52 ... it was manic), and as I hadn't made a comment on your OP it didn't land up in my 'subscribed' reminders. Anyhoooo ..... glad you decided to join us with the Themed Photo52 (oh btw love the turntable, you are a lucky lad that your lovely wife bought you for crimbo .... sorry I know we should usher that word at this time of the year, but I absolutely know where you are coming from re the vinyl .... I love mine
So onto Week 1 (themed): Not a bad photo, considering. The snow adds a 'cool' touch. The verticals seemed off align, but then when I look at the roof of the house on the left I think it is right (so it must just be the angle at which you took this pic). Guess you can't do a reshoot at this late stage, and no snow about lol ...... moving on.....
Week 2: I absolutely love this image!!! Firstly because it is supposed to be 'new' yet the year on the tin is '1829'

I think you have the composition and clarity spot on!
Week 3: I prefer the second shot of the two .... although I think that some attention is needed to the top to mid right side of the image where there seems to be something a bit wonky going on with the background. Just as a laugh at the inscription on the mirror .... "Style .... for me it's a way of life"

Somehow it is 'screaming' for a slight vignette to give it a bit of
Je ne sais quoi, as this is obviously not your 'Style'
Week 4: This is absolutely A+++++ I can relate to it 100% as I yet still have to figure out how to open a bottle of pop without the explosion and mess that results. So this one has my
Week 5: hmmm I can see your idea for the theme there, but yes it is lost by the blur of the brick. Here is an idea ....if you ever consider this for a 're-shoot' week ... try a hammer or simmilar shaped object. i.e., the brick is too uniform in shape and as such emphasised the blur too much. But I think with a 'slimmer' less regular shaped object this could work really well. Not to mention that with the slow shutter speed you would get some fantastic motion blur that would really add to the image.
Week 6: For someone who professes to be quite tidy, I bet this really did fit your 'cluttered' idea, especially all the trash at the bottom of the bookcase, that must have really got on your nerves

Also like the angle at which you shot this, which sort of adds to the 'cluttered' appeal.
Week 7: OUCH! That is just a tad OTT delicate. I think this would have been better with either one of the items. Two of which shout delicate to me are the feathers and the vase. Although large feathers was one subject I had considered for this theme, it just didn't work because of the size. But then again if you had positioned them in a way to perhaps form a fan-shape and a very shallow DOF that could have worked. Alternatively if you had used the vase and some clever lighting technique to elimiate the hard base of the vase, I think you would have been onto a cracker there.
Week 8: BRILLIANT!!!! I love everything about this photo, the composition, the colours, the themes, the idea, the resoursefulness, absolutely fantastic!!! I can't fault this one (except the very, very slight shadow under the globe, but that is just me being you true to form
Mark .... what can I say ... other than I have had the most enjoyable hour (or two) getting up to date with your project. You are producing some fantastic shots and I am well pleased. I look forward to keeping up with your progress .... and now that I have you 'tagged' I won't miss another week (if I do, please send me a gentle reminder)
Well done
Cheers
Dawn
