Some of the longer standing members here may recall the adventures we had with Marci a couple of years ago. Marci was a very young horse we rescued from Eastern Hungary and I decided to post her story on the blog if anyone is interested. :)

Enjoy!

Marci - the road to recovery

I can't believe you made me cry! :'(

What a beautiful horse. Well done on all your family and friends hard work to get her to where she is today

Kind regards

A sobbing Sarah

P.s How anyone could leave her to get like that is beyond me:cuckoo:

What a fantastic story Colin and a beautiful horse..........those eyes are amazing

She looks fantastic m8, definitely a credit to you all.

Thank everyone and to Sarah and Sarah, I didn't mean to make you blubber! :D

All credit to all concerned with helping the horse. My eyes have gone all funny after reading that.;)

I was thinking about her just the other day (often do) so that came along at the right time.

Thanks Charlie, I was thinking of you when I was writing it.

Down boy! Only because you always took an interest in her progress. :)

Thats fantastic Colin! Credit to you and your wife and any others involved. Its great to see that some people care enough.
Not the same I know, but we did similar for a failed gundog retriever a few years ago. He had been on the streets for ages. Poor lad was all bones when he came to us. He was scared of people also.
To this day, he was the best dog I had. So loyal to me. No other dog will come close to Max.
Although I do love Oscar.

Kev.

:lol: Cheers. I am not really a horsie person but did once use a big Clydesdale in the wood. That horse & me were the best of pals Till one day my hot head got the better of me. Down the road for me.
Some months later I saw the horse again. They had not been feeding her properly and she spent her time tied in an old stable. Charlie blew his top again!
Soon after that she was sent away to enjoy her retirement. Never have forgotten old Queenie.

Thanks Kevin!

Charlie, a Clydesdale, now you're talking - a proper horse!

What a beautiful story and thanks to you, your wife and friends she's turned into a gorgeous horse and what piercing eyes sh'es got

Marci's a credit to you both

My dad worked the woods as well and had a couple of Clydesdales. One of my earliest memories is sitting on top of one of them, lovely beasts. :)

What a fantastic story! Well done to everyone involved!!

Well here's another one blubbering!! Marci is just beautiful and you and your family have done a fantastic job with her. That last shot of her is stunning, I hope she continues to thrive and have a happy life.

Glad I have waterproof mascara on today. Beautiful horse and recovery, well done :)

They are indeed.Must be about 40 years ago I worked with her, yet I often think about her & how badly she was treated by somebody that was frightened of her. So he kept her tied & starved her. [PLEASE DON'T TRY TO BYPASS THE SWEAR FILTER]!

I'm going to read this in the morning when I'm feeling less emotional, even though I'm sure it has a happy ending :) Having lost a very loyal four legged friend recently, I currently tend to be a bit pathetic in the evenings :'(

what a wounderful story, what wounderful people you are..

once my eyes are dry i'll go and have another look at the pictures

What a lucky lady she is to have been found by such warm and caring people - well done to all of you... even if you did make me blubber too :'(

It is completely beyond my comprehension how people can be so cruel - how could you look at her in that state and just not care? :shake:

You and everyone else involved should be very proud of yourselves - you've made an amazing difference to that horses life

What a striking looking animal. Really nice seeing her with the other horses, they look most happy galloping around among others.

Thank you, it's my wife who must take the credit for this, I didn't do a great deal!

I remember her story very well and to hear that she sustained such an awful injury after everything, was just so unfair for her! I am so glad she is once again on the mend. Your wife is an amazing lady.....but I guess you know that!!

xx

That is an extremely moving story. :'( It was such a shame that she was injured after everything else that had happened to her and I'm so pleased she is recovering well. Please keep us updated with her progress.
What wonderful people you and your wife are, you should be very proud of yourselves and Marci.
