Yes
just been given olympus om10 manual adapter, i thought you slot it in and you can set shutter speed on it and it locks it in, i have plugged it to camera put it on manual, and it does'nt seem to do anything, is it something i'm not doing right, any help would be appreciated,
off to motogp tomorrow hoping to get some shots any tips for this camera to get good shots

Well I can tell you how to get ruined shots from experience...be careful the slider (that is used for auto and B) doesn't move around while setting asa or operating wind on lever. If this slider is moved off auto towards "B" the shutter slows down and this ruined some of my shots on holiday.
The OM20 has a re-designed top so there must have been complaints.

is there anyway i can test it to see if it works

Yep.... open the back select say F5.6 and point to a bright light and fire the shutter and it should be fast, then point to something dark and the shutter should be slow, btw you can also hear the difference. If you have a digital camera you can compare and check the meter readings shown in the viewfinders.

bear with me if i set the adapter at say 500, and shoot in light, then keep it at 500 and shoot in the dark would it not have same shutter release,
i thought adapter locks shutter speed,
i have it on camera set at manual adapter, when i aim camera at light and dark the shutter speed go's up and down in view finder, the same as if it was on auto

Ah! I was talking about camera set on auto, you set the aperture and the camera automatically sets the shutter speed for the light conditions..I don't have that manual adapter thingy, but the principal would be the same using any manual camera in that from the exposure reading of a subject, you then decide the combo of aperture to shutter speed depending on what you want to achieve.

The speed shown in the finder is just what it would choose if it was on auto. Set it to 1 second, point it at a bright light and listen for how long the shutter actually stays open - it should be about 1 second. Then put the lens cap on, set it to 1/500th and listen again - it should be quick if the adapter's OK

i will try tomorrow, if i leave it on manual and the adapters no good whats the worst can happen,
thing is i want it for moto gp so i might leave it on auto to be sure,

thanks for replies
