I need some lighting practice and wondered if anyone has a spare head available ........................ no brains needed.

Thanks for looking

Funny that...I've got a glass one that I'm trying to photo at the moment. Hard work with internal and external reflections. Pity you're not closer or you could have a borrow.

Stick a wig on this and off you go....

Thanks Guys,

I have seen the ones on e-bay and may go that route if something doesn't come up elsewhere.

Appreciate the thought Mick ............. must be a bit of a pig lighting the glass one!

Manequin heads can be useful for lighting practice/demo and I used one for these pics.

2 problems though - firstly the plastic skin won't reflect light in the same way as real skin (not that any two people have the same skin anyway) and the wigs tend to reflect far more light than real hair, although again real hair varies a lot too.

One thing, you may want to consider paying more for one with glass eyes, not painted eyes, so that the catchlight is real

Thanks Garry, didn't know that they were available. I will look further into that ... any clues as to who the distributors are?

We got ours from a German seller on Ebay, think it was this one

Thanks for the thought Luke, but I have seen those and they are so easily damaged and really rubbish!

Garry, does that one have glass eyes as the link does not say so?

Thanks Yvonne,

didn't notice that bit ..................... should have used a good eye to look closer. I think these are really good and the wigs are not too bad a price either. There will be a new woman in the house by Christmas ..... long hair glass eyes and real eyelashes ....... she's on the way!

I NEED TO GIVE HER A NAME - ANY IDEAS?
