Hi

Could anyone give me some pointers on how you would go about manipulating the area of the boot where the cat is supposed to be placed into the boot.
I was wanting it to look more sought of rumppled as if squished into the top of the welly and overflowing a bit. If that makes sense.

This is the best I have got it so far.

Image is just for fun this is our Cat and Welly for that matter.

I use ps 6.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Gaz

I think I'd reshoot the welly having stuffed it with newspaper and got it to the sort of shape I wanted but them I'm not that good with PS

The whole thing looks out of proportion to me.
The cat looks too large compared to the welly.

Hiya Chris

Thanks for the feedback.
I know it doesn't look like I stuffed the welly before I shot this but I did. The boot was just not very plyable. So I faffed around after I know it's not very convincing.
To be honest I was not after authentic I was never gonna fool anyone into thinking I add stuffed a real cat into a welly. That said getting various aspects looking better would be a good thing. I was sort of going for the silly/humorous greetings card look.

Looks good so far. Made me laugh. Kitty balances well.
Hi Frank. Thats good to know. Makes me feel like I have not done to badly.

Thanks Brian. I appreciate your feedback.
I did it like that as I thought it was just funnier. I do agree though the cat is too big for the boot.

Note : I am replying to the thread giving you my thoughts on why I took the image in this way. I am not trying to dismiss any critique. The above comments are most welcomed and all are valid.
If I had wrote in my description all this stuff I doubt anyone would have read the post never mind replied.

Even so, I think it's important to maintain a sense of believability.

The bottom of the welly doesn't work for me, where it gets really narrow, I'd personally try and force it open more, maybe sand? Dont know.
I think I'd be tempted to add the other welly too laying down?
I'm guessing it's "Puss in boots".... I'll get my coat....

You are correct. Being as I did post asking for tips on how to make the top join more believable. So easy to loose sight of what you were trying to achieve.
Thanks agin Brian.

Hiya Wayne. I see what you mean. In all honesty you would have to be able to blow up and pop hot water bottles "with ease" to force this thing open any wider.

As for the title. Your spot on ! The theme set for this was Fairy tales/nursury rhymes.

"Put ya coat down and come back" :)

ps: Like the idea of the other welly that makes purrrfect sense...... I'll get my coat.... :-)

I certainly will Gaz. :)

You could try the liquify filter in ps to wrinkle, and bulk out the boot a bit. As for joining the cat to the boot, you might have to create a fur brush and paint some in.

Thanks Paul.
I did try with the liquify filter but for some reason Ps kept freezing. It is a tool I have not used before so most likely down to user error.
Thanks for the info.

I did try this a few weeks prior to the welly photo and didnt like the outcome at all. I kept the photo though.

I did have a quick try to see if it would work. It's kinda does the job, and with a little time and patience plus some burning, I reckon it will look ok

Actually, I really like the bottom pic with its double pun.
Hi Jeremy
They are the only nasty worn pair of boots I have. Pure coincidence they were the Cat brand.
Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks Paul. I'll have a look into that.
