Well guys.......how do we all carry our Manfrotto tripods then?
Short carry strap for hand?
Shoulder strap?
Hold by the leg-warmers on the legs?
Or in a tripod bag?

I have a tripod bag which is where I keep it when not in use, am wondering about a strap....what do you all do?

Oh help - another strap thread from Janice! Aaaaarrrggghhhhh!!! ;) :bang:

Mine's attached to my mini-trekker when I'm out and about. And if I'm just taking it a short distance usually held under my arm with a firm grip one one of the legs.

Don't use a strap for the tripod, But we have other use's for straps !!!.

I've just bought a Manfrotto Neotec Janice, it has it's own carry strap. I wouldn't mind a tripod bag for it though.

Short one or in back pack ... reason I went for four section legs ...

Don't got warmers on my legs ... so no good trying to carry me by them ... ;)

Lovin' Witchy woman's opening line ...

:p

Mine's in a Tripod Bag, Manfrotto MBAG80P. A 250 odd quids tripod does need a throne to sit in:lol:

But would love to have something more like a nice sleeve to the tripod something similar to an iPod sleeve with a decent strap.

Mines clipped onto the strap on the back of my crumple rucksack

I usually carry my Gitzo in my hand, but it's pretty light and no trouble at all. Usually both shoulders are occupied by the back pack straps. When I'm not taking the back pack then a simple strap/sling arrangement would be handy I suppose.

The biggest mistake I made was buying the Gitzo tripod bag - bulky and expensive. :cuckoo:

I think i will need a strap... just for when I take it out without the Lowepro Mini Trekker. It gets attached to the front of the bag when Im out with that.
Just couldnt decide what to do when strolling without all the gubbins.

Ah, right! :D

Carry mine over me shoulder - strapping welsh fella and all :)

Is this your todger or your tripod? I'm getting all confuzzled now.....! ;)

(I blame CT for lowering the tone this time!) :D

I have a optec tripod strap and also a manfrotto bag. The bad is more descrete but the strap is more comfortable.

Woohoooo! On OPTECH tripod strap! Now you're talking!! :D  :woot:

I use leg warmers :D I also carry the tripod using them. I find the ruck sack is enough weight on my shoulders without carrying the tripod on them as well. I don't find carrying the tripod by hand too much of an issue - it's quick to change hands or put down if needed.

Hmm - not quite the thread i was hoping for when i saw janice was going all strappy again :naughty:

Anywho - 055prob either gets strapped to the Expedition 7 or carried around in its bag, depending on circumstance. Not really been into tripod straps as if you have the bag, it has a strap and there's more chance for its legs staying together.

I'd like to ask which bag people have or recommend. I use a 055proB and a Ball head, should I get the normal mag80 bag or a padded one.

Thanks Mark

I'm went 'unpadded' because i couldn't see that a padded bag would be needed to protect a fairly robust lump of metal..........

I'll go along with that. A good tripod should outlast you and your kids without kid glove treatment. A fabric bag and sling should be fairly easy to cobble up for someone fairly handy with a sewing machine? Failing that a duffle bag would probably do the job - do they still do those?

... brrp ...

I never bother to use the tripod......so i don't know how it gets around :D

I know my mini trekker aw has a thingy bob to stick it in though.

op/tech do them to fit tripods. same sort of thing as the camera strap really and cheaper than the manfrottos.

io cant be doing with fastening it and unfastening it from the backpack all the time, and dont like cases for the same reason.
