Manfrotto Nano stand - can it handle the lencarta?

Would a Manfrotto Nano light stand be sturdy enough to support a Lencarta Safari Classic head (if used indoors)?

I need a very portable light stand to use with the Safari head.

Also, the Satafri tilts downward when any kind of softbox is attached. How can I stop it from tilting (other than getting someone to hold it in position)?

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Gary

Officially: probably not.

In reality: you can actually put a lot of weight on the nanos. In a pinch, I've put big heavy monoblocs on them...

With a safari head you'll definitely be fine, bash the pack across a couple of the legs as a sandbag. It may sway a little, but it'll be fine.

Yup - the Safari heads weigh very little.

As said above the head is no problem.. But if you want to hang a 70x100 soft box or other front heavy modifiers from it it's bound to tip over if elevated much.

I've done this many times and it's been fine. It can bend but not too much. Like all stands it should be sandbagged.

That's true of the Li-on - the classic weighs quite a bit more. IMO the Classic is better balanced for this kind of thing.

Thanks guys for the advice. It sounds as though the nano will be fine for my indoor shoot. I've ordered one and will be trying it out next week. I'll let you know how it goes.

I have to admit I never sandbag my stands indoors... Only had two of them tipped over by my own <1y baby .. :P
