I took the camera for a walk on my Manfrotto monopod yesterday, when I got back to the car I realised that the plastic plug at the very bottom of the monopod tube had come off.

Does anyone know if you can get spares for these as I now have a hollow tube to balance the full weight of a 600mm lens on.

If so, where can I get them or should I contact Manfrotto direct?

Thanks

Try Jessops or Morris Photographic. I'd be tempted to take the opportunity to replace it with either the rubber or metal spiked foot though, they're only about £12-17 depending on the model

First you have to identify your monopod on this page
http://www.karlu.com/images/manfrotto_photoSPARES.htm

Then get the part number of the item, eg a plastic foot for a 681B monopod would be part No. 134.48 then you have to ring Johnsons Photopia on 0870 765 2013 and quote them the part number, Johnsons told me that they will not supply parts unless you supply the part number. However, it cost nearly £11.00 for 2 feet and I lost one virtually straight away using the monopod in a very muddy area:(

So I measured the diameter of the tube and went onto Ebay and searched for walking stick ferules and got 6 for £2.00:thumbs:

Cheers

:agree:

Took the very words outa my mouth. I got 35 for a fiver from a car boot! Does the job fine!

(I should expalin that I also make walking sticks!)

Ian H - Thanks for that link, it should enable me to get the right bits for any "modifications" I may want to make to my monopod!
