Hi All

Is the Manfrotto MN322RC2 Grip Head any good?

At the moment I have a 3 way head and it sometime takes ages to set up and need something a bit quicker sometime... So though about a grip head??

I enjoy using mine as it is so easy.
Go to an outlet and give it a try.
I used Jacobs, then bought on the net.

How much did you pay for yours?? Where from?

having used both the RC322 and the RC222 I found the RC222 to be much much better. I got annoyed at the RC322 not being able to have full rotation left to right

i got th head with my tripod got £20 off which as nice! its a treat doing macro work.

Eh? You can set the 322 up to have the camera on the end (like the 222) if you want to but (IMO) that puts a lot of strain on the ball gripping system by putting the camera/lens centre of gravity well away from the centre of rotation of the head. The 322 goes from lanscape to portrait however it's set up, so why would you need to have it go from portrait one way to portrait the other?

Just my opinion but if you go to a shop to try kit out, you should buy from the shop. Yes, you may pay a little extra over the web price but if you don't buy from that shop, sooner or later they'll go out of business and where will you go to try stuff out then? Best bet (if you're going to buy off the web) is to try a mate's kit rather than a shop's.
