Manfrotto hex spigot

Does anyone happen to know if the Manfrotto hex style spigot (designed to not rotate in a super clamp) will fit inside a standard round spigot socket.

Essentially I want a spigot to go in my 175 clamp to add a ball head and would rather have 1 spigot than 2.

No, it won't. Hex spigot is same size across the flats, but a few mm wider across the points. It would be quite easy to file off the points though.

I'll go with a standard round then and save myself some filing.
