Hi everyone,

Just saw an advert on a magazine by Manfrotto for a half price carbon fibre tripod, £200 down to £100 - details here: http://www.manfrotto.co.uk/my-3whead-4sc-kit-sz3-cf

It seems like an outstanding price for a CF tripod, I'm thinking of buying it as I don't have a tripod yet - I am aware Manfrotto is a really good brand so is it guaranteed to be good quality?

I was recommended a Redsnapper RS-283 and RHS-12 head earlier this year - will the Manfrotto be better as its carbon fibre?

have seen this in a shop and there have been a few threads about it, to be honest I would not buy it, the legs are very thin and there was a question mark over the weight it will support.

I think the £100 would be better spent towards on a more quality product, just my opinion of course

Manfrotto have the offer on their CX range, get the free pistol grip head with it. It's expensive but worth it.

I was wondering about the quality as it does look 'cheap' - plus I just looked on the Manfrotto website and it says their MY range is for compact/bridge cameras, ideal for beginner photographers. I will not be buying that then!

The same model is £79 from Bristol cameras, +£10p&p.

Thanks for the heads up

Unfortunately I cannot stretch much past the £100 mark - I'm assuming the best I can get within my budget is the Redsnapper that I linked above?

I've seen this in jessops the legs are very thin and won't be much use on anything more than a small dslr with kit lens.
