Yes
I'm considering the above monopod since the old hands are not quite as steady as they used to be, and a bit camera shake on the bigger lens is beginning to show. I think it should be quite sufficient for my needs as the biggest lens I have is a Sigma 70-300 APO DG, I've no intention of getting anything bigger in the near future. Along with my Canon 300D together they weigh in at 1 and a half Kg.

I was considering a Manfrotto Monopod Quick Release Tilt Head (234RC) to go with the monopod. I already have a tripod with a pan and tilt head which I suppose I could use on the monopod but it adds extra weight and 3 screw type handles which i don't want if I can help it.

Anyone using these two items and have any dislikes about them, any problems I could have.

i use a 679 but with a small ball & socket head (484 rc2 )
it does the trick for me with heavier gear than you.

it's not too heavy to carry about ,easy to use & gives good support.

I have the combo you're thinking about......I think, i'll check the numbers.

It's most certainly a black manfrotto monopod with a QR head atop taking the PL200 plate.

Excellent bit of kit

Thank's for the replies guys. I went out today and treated myself to the 679B and the 234Rc, it certainly feels a good bit of kit and pod with tilt head attached weighs in at 800 grams, I'm happy with that.

Now I need a decent day to go out and play with my new toy though work commitments have spoiled that for a week.

Got the head :) but mines a 680db :( but none the less an excellent combo, worth every penny.......

Whoa! excellent shots there, the second one is superb. Theres hope for me now.

Thank you, oh forgot to mention as above you may need a very tame robin that lets you get around 10ft away
