Manfrotto 488 Ball Head - Favour required

If anyone has one of these would you be so kind as to measure the base for me? I also would like to know if the locking lever extends below the level of the base when being turned

I've got one but I don't quite understand exactly what bit you want measured can you explain a bit more please.

Without taking it off the tripod it's about 60mm
