Hi everybody. I found a very good price for Manfrotto 190 magfiber 4 here in Italy (180€,around 159£). It's a very good price, but I'm not sure about this product. I would use it in travels and hikes. I would know your experiences with it, or if you have some other models to recommend.

I'll use it with a Nikon D200+MB-D200+Nikkor 17-35 f/2.8 maximum and a ball head 486rc2. I would know if there will not be problems of stability even when shooting vertical frames. I will never use its column up!

Now I'm using a wonderful 055prob, that is sturdy but too heavy-weigth and cumbersome for a hike

Thanks in advance

I have a 190MF4 that I use in vehicle and for low level work. I've used it successfully with a 1D and a 500/4 which is above it's weight rating but it is stable enough to enable 1/10s exposure at 500mm...

There are a couple of pictures of mine in use in this thread.

Amazing! Thank you, your images speak more than a thousand words!

Did you use it with wide angle lenses for some landscapes? Now I'm sure it's very rigid for horizontal frames. Did you try it in vertical with a smaller lens? Thank you.

To be complete about this tripod I up this old discussion, that I opened, to show some interesting pictures that I put in my italian blog. It's a direct comparison 055 prob vs 190MF4 (that I bought at last). Hope you'll find the pictures interesting...I think you won't understand nothing of the writings, like my English :gag: The weights indicated in the pictures are in grams...
