Manfrotto 055XPROB

Hi all

I'm in the market for the above tripod, but would like some feedback if anyone has used one before :

1. Will it comfortably hold an Olympus e-5 with Sigma 50-500mm attached (i have a ball head to use on this)

2. Just how sturdy is it at full stretch?

I have the 055 but use a gimbal head, not sure a ball heads the right thing for a 50-500mm although Id check the specs of the ball head firstly which ball head is it, as for sturdy yes itll do the job, if in doubt just hang your bag off under the it

I'v been using the ball head for years on the bigma, should've added that! Its an old Benbo thing that could hold yer granny straight

i think this is the model i have
ive got the joystick mount * and it hold my sigma 170-500 well

I tried an 055Xprob in a shop, very sturdy... quite heavy, which you can see as both a negative and a positive.

In that case check the tread size as John has a bembo and the head is the wrong fit for my manfrotto tripod (which I use for macro/landscapes/everything bar my 150-500, could be wrong so check
