Yes
I'm asking on behalf of a colleague who is looking to purchase a s/h tripod for stop motion animation and asked me for advice.

Both of these seem sturdy enough for his needs but my only thought is regarding the footprint size of either of these and if he has sufficient floor space.

If anyone has either of these tripods and can please let me know the minimum floor area required to use them, that would be much appreciated

TIA

At what working height?

Damn, I thought my Aluminium tripod was an 055 but it's a 190 with 3 section legs. With the legs all at their shortest but the centre column fully extended, it's just over the 3' to the lens centre (2' 11 1/2" to the top of the QR platform on a 410 geared head) and the legs cover a triangle with 46 cm sides. With the first set of legs fully extended, they cover a 73 cm triangle.

5hanks for looking. Appreciate your time

055 legs not extended and at minimum width stop = triangle with 45cm sides
with legs fully extended and still at same angle = 109cm sides
