First in with the new topic I think Mandy ..well done.
Nice idea with the bikes they work well but I do agree lighting is a bit harsh.
Sorry Mandy for jumping on the band wagon its a good idea but as said the lighting is slightly to harsh
I have to agree that the lighting is quite bright, but on the flip side, that then does emphasise the vibrant colours of the bikes and allows you to fully blow out the background.
So, on balance I think it works well.
It's funny, I was thinking of a similar shot, just with trains![]()
2good shots to start with Mandy, both working for the themes, if anything in order, I would be tempted to move the front 3 bikes a little to the right, it doesn't feel quite balanced enough for me.
That's a nice image again, nice and bright a vivid colours again, good composition too, a new year and a new Mandy![]()
Don't know what a swing arm is to be able to comment - all looks good to me. I like the compo with the graduation in bike size - colours are fabulous too.
The bikes are certainly parked in a nice orderly fashion, nice use of DoF too Mandy![]()
Nice depth of field and definitely in order
The colors are nice and vibrant despite - or maybe because of - the lighting, but the composition seems a little unbalanced to the OCD part of me (the wheels, maybe?). Feel free to ignore me while I "medicate" myself out of my OCD problem.![]()
Nice take on the theme. Good collection of bike models, any full-size one amount there?
Hello again Mandy.
The Alcohol can is good and sharp ... the model bikes look a bit of a jumble, but nice collection.
Really like the image and particularly the use of Dof.
Please could you put me out of my misery though, I think the first is a CBR600 and the second RC45(SP1or2) the next two I can only guess at, blade and NR750?
The models used for this shot were as follows starting at the front Honda RC211V (2005), then a Honda VTR1000 Colin Edwards 2000 followed by my dream bike Suzuki GSXR-750 and lastly a Yamaha R1 at the back @Bearair
Nice idea, I have a Troy Bayliss rep. I think I would have brought the exposure down just a touch so you have more detail in the first bike. Roll on race season.
Nice idea for Order Mandy. Yes the lighting is a bit harsh but it helps with the background. I used to have a Honda Hornet 600cc![]()
Like it. I actually like the lighting. Composition works well and nice vivid colours.
Uber crit, just a slight dark line from the BG, more prominent on the RHS.
Good show.
Cheers.
comfort by Mandy Miles, on FlickrHi Mandy I did wonder if a shot like this would go in, think you have taken a good clear sharp shot of the comfort bottle, also like the little shadow too![]()
Well! its to the point and I have the same bottle, pity you couldn't have added a soft jumper or babies blanket but its right on theme.![]()

I'm with Shirley on this one Mandy, it just needs something else, although it is again well lit and a nice clean background, theme wise it couldn't be more apt either![]()
I am trying to understand why you have taken this in the position its in, I agree with Shirley and DK it needs something else
SNAPDarn you, that was going to be my fall-back shot. Now my list of options is even shorter!
Nice crisp image. I wonder what it would have looked like stood up with a lovely long shadow coming out behind it and to the side? As said above, it also feels like it needs a little oomf to me?
It's a good take on the theme and well captured, perhaps you could have made more of it, perhaps you didn't want to. There is something about it being a bit hard and clinical, yet saying "comfort", which I quite like.

... or nestled into a soft fluffy towel (or something similar)
Hi, Mandy, now I know you can do better but sometimes it is a case of PABD.
BG does look a little under exposed but decent shadow.
Onwards to week 3.
Cheers.
Have a go at putting a fluffy white towel underneath it and post another photo on your thread. See how you feel about giving that a go.![]()
