weekly Mandy's first 52 challenge 2014 week 52 added and all finished now

Positive - I finding the bleached out version of the first shot exactly that - too bleached out. The third one with them on their side works much better though. The shallow DOF makes this image.

Time - Not working for me I'm afraid. The lighting just isn't helping with the harsh shadows - Sorry.

Thanks for the comments and for taking the time to look, i have to agree i am not all that happy with my shots for positive or time.
 
Time - is a nice close up clear shot of your watch...

I wonder if taking a bit of time to think a few ideas around over the weekend might help you, there's always more than one way to take the theme and I have found that sometimes you need to let the ideas come to you.

Sadly my mind just does not work in that way, but thanks for looking and commenting.
 
Very sharp and clear image Mandy. I agree with comments on scratches but it does show it has been around for some time.
 
Nice, simple & on theme shot with some nice fine detail picked up.
 
I'm not too fussed by the scratches in the watch as its obviously old but would have removed the scratches from the BG. I like the grain of the BG and the way it runs in from the corner. The lighting is a bit harsh hence the strong shadow.
 
Nice close up of the watch, well lit. I quite like all the scratches on the watch as they tell a story.
 
Time - I quite like the idea of the old watch and the different take on the hands being at 3 rather than the jeweller's ten to two. Lighting is a bit harsh and doesn't do the watch any favours and i would have liked to have seen it perhaps on a softer b/g . But still it is on theme and on time (see what i did there?)

Hi Mandy

Time...on theme , good detail & a lovely blue watch face :) Background needs some work for me....the wood may contrast with the metal of the watch but the color is rather overpowering...maybe a plain bg for a more product type shot :thinking:
 
Bubbles works nicely, a very metallic look, I must say well worth the re-shoot as much better than your original entry...

Swirl - Not sure what it is, but the effect is certainly nice and swirly :)

Is that a natural movement swirl or a PP'd jobby ??

It's another good attempt at Swirly but despite everyones efforts none of us are going to come up with anything other than something that goes round. What a restricting theme it has been. I am rather found of the unswirly cake though, I'm rather partial to a bit of Swiss Roll. Another good effort.

Bubble: I do like the gun-metal colour of the bubbles, it makes them seem almost mineral (now there's an idea for a theme) and rock-like.

Hi Mandy, sorry missed your time shot as for bubble I like the colour of it but the bottom right of the image the smooth bit could do with a crop
swirl is definitely swirly but I sort of think there is enough swirl in the cake on its own but would need some work to make it interesting
 
As said, loving the colours.

Good use of PP and nice detail in the swirl.

Crit, just the blown bit at the top. I'm getting less concerned about this, but feel it spoils the circle.

Themes that you can eat are always a good idea :)

Reshoot - I like the almost metallic feel on this one. I like how you can see bubbles in the reflections of the bubbles themselves

Swirl - Definitely fits the theme. I suppose I can't help but compare it to Overbez's image which is very similar. I'm wondering whether this one has too much rotation on it. Good use of a swiss roll though. They can be fairly boring :)

your re-shoot bubble looks good Mandy, I'm drawn to the bit of colour reflections towards the top left, I like them (y)

Swirl is good, like the colours (y) .........possibly a little less swirl in PP? :thinking: :)
