Dang, someone's made a lot of money with those shots! Anyone we know?

Just goes to show how important it is to pay attention all the time. I'm guessing the big agencies were there as well?

Fence hangers andy...

It wasn't an open training session as far as I know, so people on my twitter feed who would normally be there have said.

I believe the agency are one of many who stand outside with stepladders and snap away without any dataco accreditation etc. in the hope of getting something like this.

It did make me wonder how often photographers/agencies go to training grounds (not including the open sessions) and get saleable pictures. Obviously in this instance, it's worth the time but other times?

my friend who is a lorry driver use to park up at machester uniteds training ground and watch them while waiting for his slot on unloading

he seen all the usual wayne rooney etc i think he said they use the same road and drive there sports cars down there

wouldnt be hard to get pic at some places but as said time and effort worth it i think that photogreapher had a good pay day with something like that

Actually its a big no-no for agencies - this will be a plucky freelancer spending the afternoon looking over the fence. Its tricky work as clubs often threatens to ban said snappers from invitational training sessions and even games.

Even locals and residents in areas where training grounds back onto urban areas (Liverpool's Melwood, for instance) are regularly scorned by security. Sad but true.

Its a common thing for a lot of freelancers with a spare afternoon. Especially during transfer windows and when new people come in. I guess in this instance it really was pot luck.

I've read a couple of times that there is a public footpath that gives a view of Man City's training ground....I imagine that isn't the whole story though I am sure they have fencing or trees along it.

I've been inside Arsenal's training ground....no way you could get access to that they have a big bank of earth along one boundary.

Ah - they did a feature on this on the BBC news last night with the reporter wandering down the footpath and looking through the fence.

Anyhow, the shooter has definitely made a lot of money from this one - right place right time.

Anyone any idea how much money this would make ?

double it, if it were Rooney and Fergie

As a side issue to do with football news..... What a shame these were the headlines all over the UK instead of the appalling scenes that AC Milan players were enduring. I don't go for the 'balo story is what people want' - I believe it is what the press want us to want! People buy a paper regardless of it's headline and considering it was in nearly all them...it can hardly add to their readership sales.

In actual or relative terms?

The actual amount will/should have been in the mid to high four figure bracket for the series, given that it went across the board including broadcast splashes.

However, in realistic terms, the payout won't be huge in comparison to the number of hours spent waiting for a marketable shot.

Cracking story though!

I was thinking now much would these few shots make?

If you've spent many a fruitless hour before getting these then the hourly rate must be poor
