Can anyone recommend an equipped studio in or around city centre Manchester with reasonable hire charges?

Calumet £50 for all day is great value even if their studio is a bit limited....it all depends on what you want.

What are you going to be shooting?

That is good value. I'm looking to do a couple of beauty shoots in the next few weeks.
Thanks for the quick response.

Just to give some choice, are there any alternatives in Manchester?

I suppose within the M60 boundary would be feasible.

So what is my cut for doing all the donkey work in searching for venues for you?

Not being funny but there are loads of studios inside the M60, some good some bad. Sometimes you have to make your own decisions.

I appreciate what you are saying - but a recommend always helps. Of course google throws up dozens of results.

If a TPer owns a studio in Manchester then I would be more inclined to use them, as I see this as a community forum. Equally if someone has had a bad experience then that helps make a decision.

I have limited studio experience - I have used Brian Sandham's studio in Preston. Brian is a very friendly guy, always willing to help, and good fun. But Preston is a big far for me, hence seeking one closer to city centre Manchester.

I'll try other forums to see if anyone can recommend on them.

Have a look at this http://www.smcc.org.uk/2011/05/04/new-manchester-photographic-studio-for-hire/

From the website:

The studio is on Blackfriars Road, further details are as follows;

12ft (w) x 12ft (d) x 8ft (h) matt white space – other backdrops can be provided if requested in advance

2 x 300w flash system, umbrellas and soft boxes

Mac with Photoshop in studio space for instant transfer and editing

Canon 450D available for use on request with 10GB of flash card storage

Separate “chill out” room with tea and coffee making facilities (this room can also double as a changing room) plus toilet facilities

Room hire – £12 per hour payable on the day of use

For further details please contact Chris Croft on 07740348422 or at www.croftwerk.co.uk

I personally haven't used it but it's worth enquiring about as I thought the price seemed reasonable.

Neil.

Hallam Mill Stockport...
Unfortunately the very very good one I use in Stockport isn't for Hire, there is one in Marple though that is fantastic...
For beauty shots you need very little space..

Thanks - a little way out from the centre, but I will check them out.
