Manchester evening portraits

Been asked by a model freind to do some images for her portfolio, but something different.
My idea that i have settled on is an evening shoot in Manchester, more specifically Salford Quays, using the lights of the bridge and MediaCity as a backdrop.
Has anyone done a shoot here before and if so, and advice or tips?

Hiya Michael,
not sure if you have done this shoot yet, but if you don't mind a novice helping i'd love to join you. Even if just for the experiance.
have had my camera for quite a while now and not really used it. Now i'm mobile again i really want to try as much stuff as i can to find what i enjoy most.

Try Castlefield, full of brick, metal and "urban" structures.

If shooting around Media City - get permission first. I did, and they were fine, but have heard stories of people being moved (only "heard" stories!)

By the canal near Castlefield is very gritty - especially late evening.
