Hey guys,

Looking for some workflow/image management strategy ideas! I've been using Lightroom for some time which literally does everything but I'm planning on using Capture NX 2 as I think the results are better plus it's support for Picture Controls is something I'm keen on using and doing more in camera than in post processing.

So basically I have Lightroom import and sort images into whatever directory - usually something like /Images/year/month/day. How do you all organise your images? Do you just dump everything into a folder and give that folder a name? Some other method?

I use Lightroom - Year,DDMM and custom text. I also stick some keywords in.

I import all my pics into Lightroom, delete the crap and save the rest into a collection (normally via a quick collection that has picked out all the good shots). I then sort all those collections into groups under pretty general headings.

Just for tidiness really, I then search for keywords etc to find the shots I am after.

Thanks, this helped me as well. Will take a look at lightroom. Up until now i've just been using good old standard folders :)

Again Lightroom, on import Year/Month/Day and lots of keywords.

Any bunch of shots that go together get put into a collection with in one of the collection sets.

For finding images, generally I search either through the collections or use the filters at the top of the Library module (\).
